Summary: The national standard GB13955-1992 "Installation and Operation
The national standard GB13955-1992 "Installation and Operation of Leakage Protectors" issued by the State Administration of Technical Supervision in 1992 provides unified regulations for the installation of leakage protectors in urban and rural areas nationwide.
2.1 Equipment and places that must be equipped with leakage protection devices (leakage switches):
(1) Mobile electrical equipment and handheld power tools belonging to Class I (Class I electrical products, where the anti electric shock protection of the product not only relies on the basic insulation of the equipment, but also includes an additional safety precaution, such as grounding the product casing);
(2) Electrical equipment installed in damp, highly corrosive, and other harsh environments;
(3) Electrical construction machinery and equipment at construction sites;
(4) Temporary electrical equipment for temporary use of electricity;
(5) Socket circuits in guest rooms of hotels, restaurants, and guesthouses;
(6) Socket circuits in buildings such as government agencies, schools, enterprises, and residences;
(7) Water lighting equipment for swimming pools, fountain pools, and bathhouses;
(8) Power supply lines and equipment installed in water;
(9) Electrical medical equipment that comes into direct contact with the human body in hospitals;
(10) Other places where leakage protectors need to be installed.
